I always wanted an Oscar. The problem was I was so dam excited once my tank cycled that when I went to the fish store they were out and I bought an angelfish -.- I tried to work around it and I bought 3 severums (3-4 inches and ones wild) 4 silver dollars. 2 are big and the others are about an inch that I barely bought and one convict. I also have a bristlenose and snowball pleco. Ive had it this way for about a 6 months. As stated I badly want an Oscar and I am going to have one lol. So if I were to buy an Oscar how many fish am I going to have to get rid of? I know the angelfish for sure is going to have to go. Its the long 110 gallon. Ill give the measurements when I find the measuring tape -.- I have 2 aqua clears. I havent done the ph and all that in a couple of weeks... I pretty much forget about the kit and forget to check. Im good on water changes though. I take out 35-50% weekly.

I'd say your dollars and convict would be fine, the only problem will be the severums and bio-load; likely aggression as your O gets bigger.
I'd probably buy the Oscar then remove fish when aggression/bio-load becomes a problem, but thats probably frowned on by the fish police
