I just got one of these awesome little guys 2 days ago from a shop that was selling him as a common synodontis! (great buy!) I was wondering if anyone else has any expierience with keeping them with Peacock cichlids and haps. My tank is a 55 gal. with 3 2.5"-5" Hap. Morrii, 3 2"-5" Chrysonotus, 3 5" boreyli, 1 3" jacofriebergi, 2 4" strawberry peacocks and 2 4.5" frontosa. The tank is well filtered with an undergravel system and a HOB. I am worried about the agressiveness of the other fish toward a cat. In the past they have murdered one of my high fin plecos. The tank has a ph of 8.5 and the water is hard because of the crushed coral I have mixed with sand. There is plenty of rock work with many little caves. I have not placed him in there yet because of my lack of knowledge with this species. He is currently in a 10 gallon holding tank and has a few options on where I can move him. Any help you could give me would be great. thanks

I have never had petricola but they are used all the time in AC tanks.

get the big Petricola if you have African cichlids
and Synodontis Petricola are African

I know that they are from the rocky shores of Lake tanganyika, I am just wondering if they will be safe with the africans in my tank. It is only about 2.5" and some of my cichlids get pretty aggressive toward thier fellow tank mates.
