I have worked in the aquarium maintenance business for 6 years but can always learn more. I am planning a tank build for a customer and would like to hear everyone's input. The customer currently has a 2' Silver Aro in a 180gallon and would like to add another ARO and a few other fish.
The planned tank is a 84"x30"x30" acrylic. I wanted 36" wide but space will not allow it.
The filtration will be a wet/dry plumbed in the basement and most likely a large canister under the tank upstairs. Will strong water flow stress out an aro?
Substrate is my next concern. I would like to do a course sand as I would like to have some larger peaceful Eartheaters as cohabitants. My concern is sand being hard to vacuum.
Concerning the other arowana. My customer is Chinese and wants a Red, but we live in Illinois and this just won't happen. SO I was thinking a nice blue. Any recommendations on locating a larger Blue aro?
I am posting because I have no personal experience with Arowana and want to get the opinions of those who now best, Monster Fishkeepers!
Thanks in advance for any feedback,
Jason
