Ok, so i wanted to change my substrate for a while to really fine sand, i bought this riverbed sand for a turtle/terrapin tank but it says it is legit riverbed sand although it is very fine, just wondering has anyone used it and if so any problems? thanks guys!! Peace Out!!

Its an Exo-terra riverbed sand from african rivers, thats whats on the pack so if you used it can you let me know of any problems??

it will be used in a 750 litre tank with 10,000 ltr/hour flow between filters and powerhead. i have some geophagus which will sift through this sand and some synodontis cats,so i am not worried about dirt settling in. but the exo terra riverbed sand says it is for turtles, its super fine but sinks quickly. i seen some guy here say it engulfed his lungfish and dat????? could it be too fine?

The sand should be just fine. If it's safe for turtles then it should be inert and not effect your water quality, and the finer it is the more your geos will appreciate it. To be sure you could put some in a jar of water for a few days and test to see if pH or hardness are effected. I really can't see how it would harm the fish, but I'm interested to see the thread re: the dat and lungfish, that sounds odd.
