Hi all :)
Around 3 months ago, I took out almost all of the the fish out of my 75 gallon. It was well stocked with some small cichlids and tetras. As far as I know, everyone was healthy at that time. From that day I have not done anything with the tank but add water as it evaporated (not even feeding) There still is 2 plecos in there, and 2 khulie loaches, possibly a SA bumblebee cat (I haven't seen it in about a month) There are a small amount of anubias and java fern also driftwood in there too.
My question is, what are the chances of disease and parasites laying in wait for my new arrivals? I want to put my Discus in there, but dread taking the the tank completely apart to try and disinfect it. But I feel my Discus are more sensitive to illness and parasites than most fish. How would you guys go about introducing these new fish into this tank? Would YOU take the time to take the tank completely apart?
Forgot to mention, a Fluval 404 has been running the tank the whole time.
Thanks again :)

New stock getting sick due to stresses not from your tank water especially that already cycled, I have some tanks running for over a year with only algae eaters in that tank and I didn't feed them at all, after quarantine new arrival I just add them to my tank.

The first thing I would do is check the parameters, look for dead fish.

I'm doing a wc now, and the 2 kuhlis and plecos are still there. The plecos have been making 'sawdust' of my driftwood, so my water is pretty dark, probably really soft.

Your water got soften but not that "soft" for discus :)
Your tap water PH is like 8 and after 3~4 months I would say its around 7.5 and after your WC it would back up to 8

did I read that right?

you haven't fed or did wc in the tank for 3 months??

damn man, you wrong for that

Lol maybe a little bit.
I actually kinda liked my dark swamp, so I left it. The intention was to take it completely apart, then some stuff happened and I couldn't put any time into it. BUT I just saw my cat, so EVERYONE made it through!! :D

Your discus will be fine in that ph just make sure to aclumate them properly and you should not go 3 months without doing a water change. But on the same note how do you treat your discus...
