How to put a fish to sleep quick and painlessly?

I usually put small fish in the freezer in a small container of tank water.
Alternatively one quick, heavy blow to the head.

Vodka/clove oil mixture is what I would suggest

Clove oil will anethethize iclove oil and vodka will kill it, a hammer will kill it quickest of all.
