I have 3 - 1" Silver Dats currently in a 20g growout tank, with an AC70 for filtration, crushed coral as substrate. I bought them from the LFS in full freshwater. I have been very slowly converting the tank into a brackish tank, with each water change.

Two of the dats constently pick on the third, and has been nipping away at his tail. I've added additional rocks, plants, etc. but it hasn't helped. Any ideas on how to reduce the aggression? Also - the one being picked on just developed what appears to be a bubble under his right gill flap that is about the size of his eyes. Is there anything I can do, aside from pulling him out of the tank to remedy that? The other two dats are healthy and doing fine. All three dats are all still eating.

Any advice or info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

they will most likely always fight and from my experience silver dats. do better in brackish water but can survive in fresh water

Agreed. Silver dats will live in FW, but the tank needs to be well buffered against pH drops. I've lost a few in FW when my pH dropped to below 6.5.

Taboojen, it's good that you're gradually increasing your SG though. No need to go over 1.005 though. Your silvers will be fat and happy at that SG.

Thanks for the Advice. I appreciate it! :) Yeah, the crushed coral has been keeping the keeping my PH nice and stable. As for salinity it is sitting around 1.005-1.007, depending how fast I can replinish the evaporation.
I think the silver dats are nice and happy - as their bars are very stable and they eat like pigs now.

Unfortunately, the third one that was being picked on passed away about 2 weeks ago. However, the two that I have remaining seem to be doing well.
