sevendreamz;2699549; said:sorry to hear about ur tanks. which type of wolf fish are you talking about first off. im assuming hoplias malabaricus...which is the common wolf fish. gets to around 2ft and is hardy like others have stated. they are nocturnal so most of their action takes place at night, but to me they are a great fish. alot of attitude and great predators....they are very fast when striking prey and rarley miss. they eat meaty foods, and arent picky....raw fish filets, crayfish, shrimp, earthworms, and etc. if you do get one for that 200g i would suggest trying to find one at least around the 6-7in mark and not a really little one....like 2-3in might have trouble fidning food being that little in that big of a tank. as far as tankmates go something like fast schooling fish...some tinfoil barbs or danios....once the wolf gets some size on em, it will likely ignore these small fish. you may lose a few if the wolf catches them, but not that big of a deal.... if u want to actually have a stock list as far as a comm. tank start the wolf young and i would sugest adding mid and top water fish. common wolves mainly hover around the bottom of the tank. i wouldnt suggest any aggressive cichla. channa has quite a mix of fish in his tank, so many i cant even remember but when he sees this he'll answer ur questions about a stock list....cuz everyone knows he HATES SPECIES TANKS....well good luck and its quite a few people in this forum who are good guys and gals.....to help u out...

heres some tips on malabaricus:
get to 20" usually.
some get more.
120g for life at least.
they CAN BE KEPT WITH OTHER FISH.
given the right conditions.
they will take any meaty foods an with time, pellets.
usually grow 0.5-1 inch per month until 12 inches.
then they slow down.
but this would depend on the variant as well as your care.
ive heard and had 2 inches per month at young sizes before.
hardy fish, just keep the water clean and stable and no extremes.
GL and welcome to wolf addiction.![]()
