Advise needed on breeding my large cichlids

hi all, i currently have a large breeding pair of jaguar cichlids 12' and 12.5' in a tank together. i am having bait of trouble sexing the two because what i thought is the female has cleared a large area of the tank and is being quite aggressive to the larger 'male'. also i have a 11' white midas male and 8' orange red devil female together. the male just chases her around constantly which makes her hide out under some drift wood. any advise or tips to make things happen will be greatly apriciated
