One of my fish is beaten by a particular individual in my Pygos comm. :(

My immediate and short term solution would be to:

1. Isolate the aggressor for a period and then let him join the shoal back - hoping his pecking order will go down by a few notches.

2. Isolate the victim - fattened him up and heal all injuries before rejoining the group. Perhaps he won't be bullied too much.

What are the pros and cons of each alternatives and for those who kept / keeping Pygos, what are your thoughts and recommendations?

Sincere thanks in advance. :)

Remove the aggression one to a temp tank and put it back few weeks later, remove the weaker then put it back won't help cause it will get bully even more after that (the bullier will get stronger and stronger each day). If the condition still happen later on then best remove the aggression one permanent.

Rearrange decor, if possible separate both fish and feed the aggressor little and beef up the tormented. Might help.
Pygos are a piranha specie right?

I don't think the aggressor will change it's behavior no matter what you do but I would try option two.

Ya. They are a piranha comm.

One of the Caribes has grown exceptionally larger in size and is picking on the smaller Piraya. Due to the rarity and size difference; I need to do something about this. :(

If you want to keep them both then tank divider would be handy in this case.

I would seperate both take the aggresor and injured piranha into seperate tanks.....once the injured piranha is healed add both to the tank. This would also be a good time to add any more pygos to the shoal if u were planning on adding more in the future.

You shouldnt have any decour in the tank. I believe pygo shoals should be bare with only substrate. This helps by not having any territories.

I have been raising 11 caribe from 2 to about 4 inches in the last couple months that too all of them in a 80 gallon. 4x2x16 and havent lost any. Keep it bare it will help
