I'm Where I'm At
This thread is for quotes or advise you got from your dad that you either rang true or eventually came true for you. If you never knew your dad then you can quote your grandfather or even mom or a father figure.

I'll go first. they sound better in my native tongue, but either way, now that I'm older I get it now.

"listen to old people for their words are like silver and gold. pick them up and put them in your pocket. if you don't you will drop them and someone else will pick them up and make a good life for themselves"

"when you are looking for a wife, research and look into her family tree and their roots"

"Have an ambition... That's all you need to make a name for yourself"

"Be humble to everybody, cause you never know when you will be on the other side"

His is a rags to riches story and I truly believe in what he says.

I came home one day with a newly bought guitar and my dad saw me holding it and he said " you better learn how to play that or i will smash that on your head". haha

"If someone makes your life feel threatened kick em in the nuts, knee em in the nose on the way down and then lay the boot in until you feel you can walk away. The RUN!"

"Never let anyone speak poorly of your mother and if anyone ever lays a hand on her - end them, myself included"

"If you borrow money, pay it back promptly and if its from family/ a friend buy nothing but necessities until it's payed back"

LMAO!....is yout dad Jeff Jarrett?

"Always leave it cleaner than you found it"

Lost my father when I was 17, so 13+ years ago, he was an avid fisherman and hence the quote referred originally to lakes we would fish.
However, I have found this to be great advice in general. Every time I get a weird look after picking up a piece of trash that did not belong to me it makes me smile and think of him.

"If it sounds stupid then don't do it." Back when I was a trouble maker my dad would say that to me before I left out the house.
