Im interested to see who has kept saddle cichilds and what was there experience with them? size/temperament etc.. also please feel free to post your pictures because there isn't all that much about them online.

I did have a trio of 2 males and what i believe to be a female and decided to just keep the dominant male.

This is him, about 2-3inches.

i am just recently (for about a year) discovering some of the SA cichlids,so have not had a chance to keep them yet.did Alf S.give you some good insight, can you share his or your experience-temperment,size,do they get along well in community,breeding.....haha i think i just turned your question around back at you!

Ha, He basicly finds that not all that overly aggressive and they get to around 10 inches in size, so one of the bigger acaras. But he does have them in a 2000l community so they will have plenty of space.

Check out his website, it has some good info http://lem.net/alf/aequidens-eng.htm

I would really like to know more about them myself. I have been looking really hard at getting some of the wild peru ones from Rapps, was going to pull the trigger yesterday, but thought better of it because of this artic freeze we are having here in NY lol. I have diadema now which I really like, I wonder if the temperment is similar?

Tetre's aren't kept as often as some of the other acaras. They have a large range and most of the races are downright dull, so they never became popular. The one you have liam2368 is one of the most colorful I've seen.
