Just finished my triple stack 60, 180 and 80.
The filtration was loud at first and i have been trying to make it not as noisy.
All 3 tanks drain into an acrylic tank full of filter brushes that are fully submerged. This tank drains into another acrylic tank that is full of filter brushes, pot scrubbies and coarse filter pad.
At first i had the second tank half way full with a splash tray, for a trickle or wet/dry effect.
The flow of so much water was to loud so i took out the splash tray and put some soft media to lessen the noise.
Now im planning to fulling submerge and also submerge the piping from the 1st tank to the 2nd so there is no noise.
I know that the water is heavily aerated by the wet/dry affect so i wont be getting that benefit with all my media submerged.
I was considering running a few long air stones to either tank, either under above or between the media. Would that be a good idea or atleast help increase the amount of oxygen in the water?
thank you for your time.
