I'm planning on setting up a 300 gal Rubbermaid pond. It'll go in the back patio. Problem - wife doesn't want it to look like an eyesore. Has anyone tried to make the appearance more aesthetically pleasing? Keep in mind that I'll have it on top of some cinder blocks (for elevation) to use with a W/D filter. Any ideas as to what to surround it with? Pics would also be nice.

Box it in with landscape timbers or stones (use adhesive with stones it's easier). Real or fake brick, HD had some fake stone in 2'x4' sections (plastic?).

What's the DW like?

What is 'DW'? The rubbermaid pond's dimensions are roughly 5' diameter x 2' deep (if that's what you meant).

Thank for the ideas so far. I'll head to HD/Lowe's & check out the options.

I tried to get a pic of landscaping stones but you know how that goes when you need them, they inter-lock but are about $2 each USD.

Have you bought the tub yet?

How about this...

or you could do this around the outside of the tub...

or threaten the DW with this...

you could build a 2x4 frame and plywood box around it and put some plants in the corners to hide the gaps

Make it look like a fish tank stand. Frame it up and use plywood on the sides. Cabinet doors on the front and maybe side by the wet dry and it should look pretty good. A lfs has a look down reef tank that is made w/ landscape retainning wall block and that looks pretty good also. However, by using the tub I think the cabinet style would look the best. Just my 2cents.
