African algae eaters

Howdy,

I've been thinking about this, and thought I'd bring it up here:

South America has plecos, Asia has Garra and Grinocheilus. (Not complete lists)

Any sucker-mouth algae eaters from Africa, or how is that niche filled there? Just snails?

I think the algae eating niche is filled by the algae eating cichlids.

There are some suckermouth catfish species, Labeo species and Garra species.

If you're thinking riverine, there are also some algae eating Sycidium gobies.
