African Aro Growth Rate?

idk why but my afro was growing pretty slowly about 1" inch per month. my friend got an afro at the same time and his doubled in size. i was tripping out but im really sure its because he feed it lots of different foods. if you take good are of it, the afro will grow super fast!
 
it varies,mines grew around 2" per month at small until like 10" it slowed down to like 1.5" per month,thats b.c i fed it varied diet and did 50% waterchanges per week and temp at 86F and etc

idk it depends on how much your fish eat and how active it is and how big the tank too
 
Growth rate will be steady and fast if you are feeding your baby afro 3-4 times a day.
 
I got 2 afrowanas a year ago this month at 2", 1 was killed by another arowana early on- the other one went back and forth between me and another member, chesterthehero every few months- one of us would get tired of it and the other would miss it- he has it now and its over 20" in just 12 months! hes getting tired of it now, and Im still kind of tired of it, he had talked about selling it
 
blackworms in the very beginning, onto pellets, blackworms, and bloodworms, and now its mostly just pellets- but one thing we both stopped, was vacuuming the sand- 50% waterchanges weekly, and the afro had the entire sandbed moved from one side of the tank to the other by the next WC-
