One of my gars beat up my 16" african arowana and tore an eye out. The socket is smooth and looks clean. Fish is swimming normally and eating.

I moved the arowana from the 500 to the 150 to heal. Recommended treatment?

I have a one-eyed frontosa (large female) that lost an eye before. clean water and the socket healed up. never used any salt or meds. I'd just watch for fungus breaking out. seen many one-eyed piranhas also... again, sorry it's your aro. :(

sorry to hear it.. but he should be okay... just take special time in making sure that he eats a balanced normal diet.. he will not be able to see except from the one eye..so he would miss alot of the food if you don't take time out and feed him slowly..

He didn't make it past the first night. I guess they got him worse than it looked.

RIP my first monster.
