well i dont know about that, when i got mine, the guy who sold it to me had a bunch in 30g. but they were small. idk if aggression happens when they are bigger, when i saw the tank, it was peaceful.

fish kept in fish stores do not exhibit typical fish behavior. They are cramped, stressed, usually very young, and haven't been there very long. Once they start establishing themselves in your tank and are comfortable, the terror begins. I don't know for africans. Jardinis are reported to go psycho when they hit 8-9"

Juvie afaros will be fine together at the 2" and under range. From 2-3" to sub-adults at 12-14" they'll most likely fight until all but one is dead. After the foot+ range, my afaros got along just fine in the 650 gal.
Regretfully, I've lost one to evolutionary suicide soon after selling off the odd man out. Now, I just have one 2 1/2+ footer to enjoy.

Thanks friends I'm hoping to pick up 3 to 5 Africans about 4 to 6 inches, they'll be alone in a 220 gal tank 6'x24"x30", hoping to add a Black Aro around 6"

Confirmed I'm getting 5 4" African Aros, I'm going to be trying my luck with keeping them all in the same tank 220 gal, now the next crazy question how do you think a 6" Black Aro would go, I'm hoping with 5 Africans chasing eachother around the Black won't be able to focus on the Africans
