I was just looking at some fish to online(youtube) i thought they are reall cool. can you have them in the us and how big do they get thanks guys

african aros are legal in the US and the largest I have seen in person was around 3' in a pond but they are suppose to get around the 4' mark.

Mine is pushing the 30" mark now. Quite a change from the 2" size I received him at.

yes legal,they grow up to 3-4 ft but iv seen 3 fters in a 10k tank

he looks like a carp............ the mouth does at least. still has the sleek body of an arowana but the face of a carp.

I was just about to say that...but when you see them open that mouth to strain the water, it looks completly different...

how long did it take to grow that size?

mine went from 2"-3" to 6" in 2 months... its now taken another 5 months or so to get to 10"... at about 8" he slowed down...
great fish just dont get to attached to your sandscape.. in less than 12 hours mine has moved about 70lbs of sand from one side of the tank to the other..
ive only seen aggression from mine twice... the first time i teamed up with the giant gourami to kill a small goldfish.. the second was lastnight when he slaped a high fin shark around a bit...
