Anyone keeping African Arowanas?
Any advice or tips on keeping them?
Diet, Temper?

:feedback:

I have ten coming to me on the 3rd of Aug.. I have yet to find a picture of one over 3-4". Which is starting to make me nervous that nobody grows them to any good size.

I hear they do well on a diet of blackworms.. make sure the tank is barebottom so they can easily find it. I forgot what a good size is but if u get them too small theyre fragile. 5 inches and above is a good size i believe.

I wanna grow out one too but let me finish on the tigrinus first.

yea I'm probably gonna sell 8 of the african aros to cover my cost plus shipping keep two and the baby tig.. they are goin into a bare bottom 55 gallon until they are big enough to go into a 300 gallon with two dats, temensis, ornate and senagal bichir, and a spotted gar. I'm excited. Hopefully I can keep the aros alive.

im down with doing that when your ready.
ill take a few

I recieved 3 Africans on Saturday(4-5"). 1 DOA in the bag, the other 2 were gasping pretty hard. Acclimated them and they looked fine. Watched them for a couple hours and they were going from the bottom of the tank to the top over and over. 4 hours later both were dead. BUT, my jardini is doing great.
