african arowanas

do african arows have any special needss. will they survive with a silver. and is one for 29 dollars a good deal. its like 6 inch long

They are filter feeders so they need to be fed twice daily.

$29 is a really good price. You should pick me up one too and I'll come by to pick him up since you're in Socal.

I paid $30 for my 3-4" guys and they didn't make it. 6" sounds promising.

Leave the leftover food in the tank and don't scoop it out and you should be fine.

Small african aros are best left to the advanced aquarist. As stated above they are filter feeders so you will need to have a good way to feed them. Some learn to feed of a sponge filter and some will learn to feed of leftovers on the bottom. Should probably be kept alone until larger.

There have been a few members on here with alot of exprience that have not sucsessfully raised them. I myself have yet to give it a try.

yes they will live with a silver.
but there will be squabbling.
and the african aro will most likely get hurt if there is squabbling.
they are filter feeders and very hard to keep alive when at such a small size.
i wouldnt reccomend you keeping this guy with all your cats and what not.

thats a pretty good deal, the thing with african arowana...to me they look like a torpedo. Its just the body wise but good luck if u get ur hands on it.
