I know this isn't a monster fish and I honestly don't know if there's a place on this forum for it, so I put it here as the siver arowana has a similar jaw structure.

Anyways, to the point...what's the best thing to feed them? I've had one in the past that I fed crickets (from a lfs), but it died in about 2-3 weeks. I'm trying my hand @ them again and want to make sure it lasts a quite a while longer than the last one did. I have it in a 10 gal and from what I understand it's about full grown (3-4".) Any suggestions?

well it is a bonytongue so... here or other monster fish i guess. they grow to about 10 cms. be careful with other small fish, esp middle/top dwellers cause they'll be food. they are carnivorous, so they prefer live foods, and crickets i think is a good choice, but if you can get them onto things like pellets or freeze dried or frozen foods that would be good!

they are definately monsters, just on a smaller scale

You can feed them floating pelets. I have been told they are actually related to the arowanas. Anyone else here this or know better?

not quite related, but from the same order

the african butterfly fish is the only species in the family Pantodontidae within the Order Osteoglossiformes (bony tongue) which is the same order that the arowana family is in.

Actually I'm lookig forward to own afew pieces of them in singapore here. Just tht I got no luck in aquiring afew currently. they're definately related to the aros.
