I am new to chiclid keep im not sure what kind i have but i have 11 african chiclids in a 55. I know i can buy grass for chiclids at petshops but i was wondering if i could put grass seed in my chiclid tank to get a lot of grass cheap. Thanks

Hair Grass Eleocharis sp. come in a couple of forms. One grows submerged, another grows above water line.
Will blue grass or the grass you are talking about harm my chiclids if i try to put it in my tank and grow it as grass for fry to hide in and for a natural look?
Blue grass is KY blue for lawns. Not good for fish tanks. Eleocharis will provide good cover for fry, as long as the parents don't graze. Try it and see if your fish will like the salad, or pass on it.
