Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I am starting an African cichlid tank. I just received my first order and would like your opinion. I have a 75 gallon tank. I ordered all males which consist of a red, yellow, blue and eureka peacock, a blue moorii, a frontosa, a snow white, orange head compressiceps and a borleyi kadango.

Hey - welcome to the forum. I am glad you are looking for opinions but I am surprised that you did not ask for opinions before you ordered if you had concerns or worries that you might make the wrong choice. Some places won't take fish back.

How big are the frontosa and blue moorii (I assume blue dolphin)? Reason I ask is that they are hard to sex when small so are you sure they are males?

From my personal experience, frontosas and moorii (blue dolphin) seem happier in groups of 4+ rather than being a single fish mixed in a community tank. I can't speak for the other fish.

No I'm not positive if they're male or female. I'm kind of thinking the blue dolphin might be female because I read that females could have black markings other than the normal stripes and it does.
The frontosa and the blue moorii are about 2 inches. I don't have a problem adding more to make groups.
Your right, asking for opinions now does seem backwards. The reason for this is because someone one another forum (that has 2 yrs experience and has a 10 g tank) told me that I need to rehome them all and start over. This has made me doubt my research. So now I'm wondering if the info that I found was wrong.
I've also read that I can overcrowd to cut down on aggression. If this is the case, I'm willing to do more water changes. I want to hear it from someone that actually has knowledge on them.
So tell me what you think of the combination.

I also have a 55g with 1 uaru, 1 baby whale, 1 elephant nose, 1 needle nose gar, 2 angels, 1 blood parrot, 1 goldfish (small) and 2 gouramis (pearl & honey).

Welcome to the forum, I mostly have mbuna, mixed with dragons bloods. So Can't help you much with peacocks.
Mine are all lake Malwai, less my lake tang, syno cats.

Blue Dolphin Cichlid (Cyrtocara moorii) typically does not have much for stripes (markings) although I find the females have "blotches" on the sides when stressed.

I have not done an all male tank before so somebody else can maybe help out here.

I find it easier to manage a tank say with two species - 6 fishes each, than a tank with six species - 2 fishes each. Either way it is 12 fish but I find the more species the more potential problems. It is easier to find two species that get along than six.

Are the mbuna real aggressive? They're beautiful fish.

Mine are mostly territorial disputes, involving their romantic escapades, with females.

My acei hybrids" blues" 1/2 dragonsbloods, are very laid back.

My blue, dark banded, pseuo trophus elongatus, are down to one male, with all the girls. The 10 others are in a all male tank, with 6 with territory, and 4 that distribute aggression.
That said, they also badger the 12" pleco, he is too big to care.

My females, can be pushy when spawning comes.

Most of the real aggression, lock jaw fighting, is only between two males, that are out to settle a dominance issue.

Which has not had any fatalities, I also have retreat areas, and line of sight breaks. Lots of algea to eat.

In my coed tank, I have one male
Yellow lab male
Pseudo trophus elongatus
Blue fin, dragons blood male.

Seven male " brothers"
Blue, "yellow tail Acie "x pink dragons bloods.

With about 12 females, a mix of all 4 fish.

The 3 solo males, have their own territory's.

The blue Acie, are gypsies, and cruze in loose formation.

Most of the females, are holding eggs, and are hiding.

They're very pretty. I like your tank setup. It's that coral?
I put several pvc pipes for them to hide in.
Right now I have all of my new fish in a 55g for quarantine. After that, I'll transfer them to my 75g and put the ones that are in the 75 right now in the 55g.
I did a lot of research on them before I ordered them. I did order the snow white thinking it was a peacock so I'm hoping since its the only mbuna that it won't be too aggressive.
Now I'm looking at ordering more frontosas and blue mooriis.
They're so expensive online, but there's no where around here to get them. My choices are petsmart and petco.
I found the frontosa on a trip to Arkansas.
