African Cichlid ID?

Wondering if anyone could give me an ID on this fish. It was a birthday present (gotten from Petsmart as assorted African Cichlid).

Unfortunately the fish I already have are Central Americans that probably will not work with this fish, but I don’t have the heart to tell the little nephews this because they were pretty excited to get it for me. Sooo I’m just going to expect the worst and hope for the best.

Water parameters for Lake Victoria, and much of Central America are very similar
Lake Victoria has Alkaline water , with pH in th mid 7s to almost 9, and moderately hard, which mimics most of Central America.

Actually a pretty nice fish to find in the general cichlid tank at a chain store. Not very common to find.

Yeah, my petsmart/petcos never get anything like that in. All the assorted Africans are just common peacock species/hybrids and the occasional mbuna (usually a lab, bumblebee, zebra, or kenyi).

I keep a pair of Yellow Rock Kribs. They aren't particularly aggressive, but are very durable.
