I have been reading about African Cichlid specific water supplements such as those made by Seachem or Kent. Are these worthwhile or a waste of money? I'm already working with good tap water for my fish as I'm on a well, no nitrates, PH 8.2, GH 19, KH 11. I'm not into wasting money but if these keep my fish happier they are not terribly expensive.

I'm a true believer of leaving the water as is unless your dealing with some really sensetive fish. Consistency is always better, and with a PH of over 8 your already in good shape!

I believe that adding unnessary chemicals & screwing around with water is asking for trouble. I raise a lot of African Cichlids & never mess with my water. There are natural ways to adjust water such as adding crushed coral to buffer PH.With your PH at 8.2 thats perfect for Africans.:)
