African cichlids in community tank

Anyone ever kept small african cichlids in a community setup with Livebearers , Gouramis and catfish w/o agression and problems?

with Gouramis you can keep cichlids as I know

In a year they will take over the tank (i.e., eat the livebearers and smaller community fish). See my pictures of my 75G taken within a one year period. I tried adding more hiding places, but only the Gouramis survived; and this was with the least aggressive of the African cichlid species.

Even Gouramis may not be safe, my sister lost her's to cichlids.
