I just got this guy yesterday, he's about 3" long... he ran across a 1.5" shrimp on the bottom and ate it whole. Had a big lump in his belly for a bit, but now seems OK. I just wonder if he will injure himself trying to cram something that's too large for him down his gullet. Should I cut back on the size of things I put in there?

nope, ive seen them eat fish as big as they are. they just stretch when they eat that much

I hope he doesn't eat any of his tankmates!

i once saw one at a lfs eat 4 $35 fish in a display tank

I guess I better keep him fed ;)

I have one in my sons community tank and we have been noticing fish missing. The frog has been eating his tankmates no matter how well we keep him fed. He ate my betta that I had in that tank too!! Watch out for the other fish in the tank.

Yep, they will eat pretty much anything that can fit in their mouths. They are best kept in a species only tank. I hope your not too attached to your fish!

Hmmmmm, well for now I think my loaches are too big for him to eat, but he's still juvy. He may get returned if he eats any of my fish. I even asked the people at the store how he'd fare with my tankmates.

It's hard to keep them with fish in my experience. Either the fish are too small and the frog eats them, or if they're big enough not to be food they nip/harass/eat the frog. I would think your only option re: cohabitation would be big peaceful fish like bala sharks for example.
