I have always wanted one and saw some the other day. Could I grow one out in a 10 gallon and put one in with my cichlids in my 55 gallon? I feed cichlid flakes, hikari pellets, and the occasional earthworm.

Actually, the more i think about it it probably isn't a good idea. The cichlids would probably just bite his legs off.

Actually, I have heard that full grown a Xenopus laevis will quite easily eat its way through a tank of fish.

You could grow one out, but I wouldn't recommend keeping one with any fish. They WILL eat anything and everything they can get their hands on. I have 3...they're fun in a species-only tank.

A problem I had with mixing them with fish is that most cichlids will pick at it's legs and fingers, so I'd go with just a species tank. I had one once in a tank with a paddletail newt for about 2 years and it seemed to work out fine though
