sry im new to the MFK not sure if im posting in the right spot. I just got an African clown knife and have it in a 50g tank on its own for the moment, its been there for 3 - 4 days but i cant get it to eat anything and it doesn't seem to be sick. I was feeding it new life food and it eats a few but thats it, i think it needs to eat more then that. I gave it blood worms and it didn't eat that. Any suggestions.

Well...first off, you have a Clown Knife (Chitala Chitala or Chitala Ornate) and they are from Asia. And if you just got it, give it some more time to adjust. Clown Knives can get quite big (too big for a 50g). There are 3 Knives that are from Africa (to my knowledge), Papycronus Afer, Papycronus Congicus (haven't seen one myself yet), and Xenomystus Nigri.

In around a week i will have my 100g up, I just made the stand this week and need to make a canopy. I'm going to put this guy in it and another CF, a BGK, and maybe my blackbelt cichlid. Puting a lot of Africans with them would be a bad idea right? I was thinking to use a black sand and geting a 4" by 4' or so clear tube for them to hide in.

Hate to say it but knives usually dont get along too well together....same species or not. If you want a knifefish that doesn't get TOO big and is pretty chill look into african brown knifefish.....and they have quite the personality.
