Are there any lobsters or crayfish that could live with the rift lake cichlids, same water parameters and temp?
Oddball;1088102; said:Rule of thumb with any crustacean with claws is: Not With Fish. Predatory crayfish will actively hunt your fish. Any fish that can hold their own against crays are likely to eat the crays during molts.
Check in to bamboo shrimp (genus: Atya sp.) for something suitable in a community. Just ensure the tank has loads of hiding places for the Atya to accomplish their molts without being harassed.

First off; these are crayfish and not lobsters. That is a common misconception.
Second; these crayfish are of the Cherax family and are southern hemerisphical crayfish. I am not sure what the parameters are for the fish mentioned but I know that they are at least semi aggressive.
I would NEVER suggest putting any semi to aggressive fish with a crayfish. The crayfish will only end up being a treat durring a molt.
I have imported, raised and sold many, many Cherax over the past 6 years; and I will just say that it is a bad idea.
