Hi guys am looking into adding some 'excitement' to the tank.
What about adding African Dwarf Frogs into a community?

Currently I have a 46 gal (4ft) tank with 3 x cories, 1 x rainbow shark, 1 x angel, 1 x plec, 1 x sucking loach, 5 x gouramis

Would these be good tank mates for a frog?
What is the most suitable frog for a community?
Should they be bought in pairs or groups?

looking forward to your replies, thanks.

I had a similar set up once and added around 6 frogs. They started dying off, probably due to lack of food. They are pretty slow and can't handle competition. I had luck in keeping them with guppies and platies. As for you other question i cant really think of a community frog. They usually do best with a species only tank.

with that many fish it will be hard to get food to them , u will have to use a baster or something to get bloodworms to them.

they will eat any fish that will fit in there mouth

I think you're mistaking it for the african clawed frogs (Xenopus sp.)...the dwarf frogs aren't going to eat any fish, not that there are any as small as their mouth (other than fry)

I just got one and am taking it back. It is freaking boring. Just hides behind the filter all the time.

LOL check maybe its stuck i had one die being stuck on a filter intake

dwarf frogs aren't going to do much in the "fun to watch" department, but they are still interesting to have a small tank dedicated just to them.
