African Knifefish

I got a 3 in. african knifefish from petco for 3.00 and I need to know its needs. How big does it get? What temperature? Stuff like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
It gets to around 8inch i think, possibly a bit more, but not much.
 
i have two right now that i also bought from petco......they get to be around eight inches........i've been feeding mine bloodworms and flake.......i have been keeping them in my community tank at around 78-80 degrees and they're always active......i'd give it something to hide in like a cave or some driftwood.....mine were pretty nocturnal at first but i kept the light on more and more and they are usually always out..........good luck with them....let me know if you need to know anything else............

heres the only info you get when buing fish from petco: "what size tank? oh, ok thats fine." *SOLD*

i have 3. 2 are 3-4 inches. my large one is about 8-9 inches:headbang2 . they usually chill out behind rocks and stuff but can be active.
 
hi there, most of the featherbacks came from stagnant murkey waters, so they kinda like to have a not so light up tank, dim your lights they may feel much better. i have a clownknife that about 5".;)
 
My brown African was my favorite fish. My wife feed him one night to show off to her friends while I was at bowling and she left the lid open. I found him dead on the carpet the next morning. Awesome, awesome fish to keep.
