African Pike argument

I had a fight with my local aquarium owner he has an african pike ( which I own myself ) listed as an african tiger fish, When i pointed this out to him he told me african pike are called tiger fish and the fish i was talking about are illegal. Anyone
know if that is true?

uhmm ATFs arent illegal, but wes did tell me they will be banned next year or sometim
and common names are really confusing. ppl call datnoids tiger fishes too.

Common names don't mean squat, they change alot like fads and many lfs will call them whatever sells quickest, look at all the "sharks" and "gars". Any decent LFS should beable to tell you the scientific binomial of what they sell.

well it has been called the African Tiger PIKE but of course you also have the African Tiger FISH.

if you really wanna prove him wrong print out or if you have a laptop save the info and show it to him.
