African river ray?

I remember reading something a while back about a ray from africa thats protected and I think I saw a pic if my tattered memory isn't playing tricks on me. I think it was either Congo or zambizi river endemic. Just wondering if any one else had stumbled across this. Any info or links would be nice I haven't been able to find anything on line
 
Until the mid-70s, there was Potamotrygon garouaensis, from the Benue River at Makurdi, Nigeria. It's since been reclassed to the genus Dasyatis (Dasyatis garouaensis).

You can probably find info by searching on both names. To me, it looks like the atlantic ray in the US (Dasyatis sabina).
