This is my first african setup. 40 Gallon breeder, ac110 and ac70.
Stock: 3 Red Zebras, 3 platinum Zebras, 2 Cobalt Blue Zebras, Trio Lwanda Peacocks, 1 Snowball Pleco.

Let me know what you think. I know this may not work longterm, hoping to upgrade to a 75gal.

looks nice...but when they get bigger, upgrade to sand...or do that now, it just looks better and they can dig around in it too.
and i think those platinum zebras are albino socolfis....but it all looks good

I love long tanks. I think you need more rocks and you should try piling them tighter on top of each other. The caves will be formed by the crevices the rocks create.

For example:
Draw an imaginary line, front to back down the center of the tank.

Take the rocks you have and make a tight pile on the left side between the glass and the center line.
Get more of the same zebra rock and slope it down from the right side glass, towards the center, leaving an open area between the structures for the plants.

If you want to get fancy, take out some of the gravel from the center between the two structures and replace with black sand. Place a couple of small rocks (golf ball) near the plants.

Keep in mind the habitat needs of the type of fish you're keeping. Mbuna, the zebras, will squeeze and snake their way through narrow slits, while the Peacocks need a larger opening and like an open area to hover over.

Good luck and be creative.

Nice fish and tank. If those are annubias plants they need to be out of the gravel. If the big bottom root is in the gravel the plant will die. I tie mine to rocks and they put out roots that go down to the gravel. Buy the Rhyzome cannot be buried.

Nice

I also agree with the above. Those platinum zebras are actually albino socolofis aka Snow white Socolofis.

Now the Snow White Socolofi's, since they are albino there eyes should be pink or red correct? I know in this pic its eye seems pinkish, but I beleive there eyes are black. Its hard to get good pics of them, Ill have to get a few more to confirm its identity.

Thanks guys!!

It does look like it has red eyes in the photo. The body shape also points to being a snow white. I think some more pictures would help ID it.

Didnt have time to take more pics last night, will try again tonight. I did notice there eyes seem black, but then at certain angles under the light for a split second they look red.
