Doing research as I type... but I don't have any actual first-hand experience with this species. Need some advice from others who've kept them.
I recieved a batch of turtles from someone who was moving and couldn't keep them. 6 turtles total. 4 red-eared, 1 yellow belly.... 1 one little african side-necked turtle. All of these guys have been housed together for the last few years in a 90-110ish (they didn't know the size but gave me a rough idea) tank... all 6 of them.
The little sideneck appears to have an old injury on his shell that has healed it's a small chunk out of the schutes towards the back of the shell.
So... having not anticipated getting this guy in (I was lead to believe they were all sliders) I am now scrambling to get a separate setup for him to get him away from the sliders and into a more appropriate setup.
Looking for some good "basics" (tank size, diet, etc)

do about a 3x3x2 tank for one side neck and since you have other turtles i would do a 3x6x2 tall tank. go to www.pelomedusa.com it will answer all your questions. i studied the pelomedusa species (african sideneck, etc) for over a year before finiding out i couldnt get one. pm about any other questions you have.

The turts are all in a 10X3X3 currently... was planning on moving the sideneck to a seperate enclosure, he's by himself.
