African Spiney Eels..? Where...how?

Looking for some African Spiney eels to go with my african biotope (african black knife, Congo leaf fish...delzhi birch..rope fish etc) ...but i can't find them anywhere...no shop here in st. louis..no where on line....where could i find them!

Check out aquabid and look at M. elipsifer or plagiostoma, they are both tanganikian eels

Thanx for your help...wow...70 bucks...but they are beautiful ....might have to wait a while though.

That is the bad part... they tend to be pricey bu they are gorgeous eels!

Any word on how big they get?

elipsifer gets 18" and plagiostoma gets 12" I believe. Btw my lfs has a Mastacembelus albomarginatus in for $90, funny thing is there are no pictures available on google!

They require the same water as african cichlids which is the opposite of your current fish.

go to Toyin at Rebothaquatic he has african eels from nigeria 9 to 15 inches 3 diffrent species. I have two, there are now about 16 and 14 inches they are not as exspencive as the rift lake eels.
