PH they don't really care, nothing extreme.
Temp 24-28 C i think thats about 75-80 F ? Not sure.
Growth rate is quite fast the first few months then slows done.
They get very old, normally around 15 years but there are older ones.
Special needs: Low water hight. They need to be able to breath easily.
Hope I could help.

thanks, I just got an eight incher, how many inches they grow a month? this guy mainly feeds on hikari pellets at night and one eartworm during the day. is this enough? I want to fatten him up without overfeeding so he can grow faster. hes in a sixty gallon filled to the top but hes a good swimmer and hangs out in the floating plants so am I okay?

also his tail is squared off like its been bit off in the past, will it ever grow back to normal? in another topic a member said a sixty gallow 3x2x2 would last him for life, is that true? I know people say they dont need much space but I want I want him to be happy. is it normal for them to stay hidden all day? sorry for so many questions :/

No a 60 gallon wouldn't last, I'd recommend 115 gallons minimum or maybe you could get away with 100. Yes the tail should grow back to normal. It is normal for them to hide at first, put in lots of hiding places which will make him feel more secure. I think at that size he'll grow about 1-1.5" a month.

Oh and 60gallons are very high tanks so I'd recommend lowering the water level to maximum 12" ( rule of thumb: Water level max 1 and a half times the size of the lung)
Hope i could help.

but should the sixty last him a year atleast? look at the last pics I posted in this topic, should I add more hiding spots? also what should I feed this lungfish, how much and how often to increase growth? they grow to atleast thirty inch right? my baby is atleasr going to need a 220g. man your a life saver! thanks for helping me!!

Tank looks ok,but increasing the amount of hiding spots is never bad, maybe put a few near the other side of the tank , and also, but black cardboard on the back and sides of the tank, that ALWAYS helps! ;)
Yes the 60 is going to last him very long probably until about 18" which he should reach in a bit over a year normally :)
If you have further questions feel free to ask me :)

thanks, im exploring all of your ideas lol. my main problem is I see other peoples lungfish swimming all over their tanks and begging for food during the day. my lungfish lets me hand feed him but when will he ever be an active fish. think more hiding spots would make him feel more "outgoing" during the day?
