Hello,

With my ongoing project of having a 250 by January, and for the project to own an African Arowana, I have been itching the need to already buy it as the wholesaler here has 13 left, and I had never seen it in its stock...

So my fears is that by when my tank is set up, it could not be there anymore, and I might end up like I did with Pleuros and never see them again on a stock list...

So my question is: This website has temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C, which seems odd, coming from Africa, but would actually allow me to order it before they disappear from my source, and keep it in my unheated tank... And since this website seems pretty well documented, I wanted to get thoughts from people actually owning them!

Here is the source:

To find the info in question, Ctrl+F "Water Tolerances".

Thank you!

i have mine at room temp, so 22c.
My tank is around 18°C atm (Channas) and it might drop a few degrees as weather gets colder for winter (Never below 17.5°C even when the house is empty).

I don't know if I can risk it, and I would absolutely hate to kill an Arowana of any sort!
(Or any fish that isn't a feeder for that matter)

afrowana's are notorious for dying at the slighest breeze, I'm on my... fifth now I think but this one seems to be making it out of 15 or so cm's.

But is 18°C bearable for a couple of months?
(They're labelled as "Large" so i'm assuming 20-30 cm ish)
