African Tiger Fish Info?

I was told you guys could help me out a lot more on this one than the people at Livejournal.

Could anyone tell me information on these guys?
I've read they do get big, and that's no problem. I can provide a 300g.
I know they are very agressive, eating habits of a piranha and are related.
Temp would be 75-80?
And PH would be neutral to alkaline?
My main question is what fish to feed. I know some fish won't eat certian fish even if given. Is the African Tiger Fish the same? Are there any feeders that just should not be given?

I just want to find out as much as possible before I get one.

Keep in mind that they will outgrow a 300gal tank and will eventually need something much bigger. I'd also search the forums for more info as this fish is discussed rather frequently.

a 300 should hold one fine for a pretty long time, so no need to sweat that anytime soon.

IME, ATFs will eat pretty much anything, so there's no need to feed live fish. Mine eats frozen bloodworms, krill, and even pellets. Also, when they're small they are wimps. I lost eight 3-inch ATFs to four 2.5-inch Brycinus macrolepidotus.

Oh wow. I'd be pissed and a half.
Thats good to know they aren't really picky eaters. Most of the info I was gathering sadi they were. But when I get one, It'll have it's own tank.
