I'm about to pick up an atf just wondering if there are 2 species since some call it goliath atf? How long would I be able to keep it in a 55 gal?Ok with freshwater sting rays?

55 gallon is WAY too small for both species.
The ATF will get about 30'' and will need a VERY large tank to accommodate it's size

Now I'm worried I just brought him home placed him in his tank and I went to pull out some old canister tubing that hasn't been running for a month now and out spilled this horrible smell. I'm scared that my fish will die what should I do? Took me a few years to find one I could afford I don't want to lose the fella. By the way he's 4inches
Clean out your canister! You are probably smelling a "rotten egg" smell which is hydrogen sulfide. If in doubt you could also do a 25% water change on the tank as long as the fish has settled in already. Don't want to stress him out from the get go!
Why do people buy fish then ask questions later? I would never buy an expensive fish that I didnt know much about.
I did my research just wondering what others setup are maybe its different. The lfs had there ph at 6.8 and temp at 82. online ph is neutral and temp 76 to 85. I bought just cuz I don't want someone else to buy it. Lfs been open for almost 20 yrs and its there first one in. Fish doing fine now thanks.Pyramid_Party;2088165; said:
