African tiger Fish

THe one in the ID thread is 8-9". AFAIK, yours is one of if not the largest FATF in the hobby. The world record fish is a bit over 2' long and 9 pounds. I'm curious to see if one of these will approach that size or not.

There are also two distinct genetic populations of FATF (genetically confirmed but as-yet-undescribed to science subspecies level distinction); one from the Sahel and the other from the Nile. There is a distinct possibility that they may have different traits in growth and max size.

Hi. Though this is an old thread, it is very interesting. I didn’t know there were two types of FATF. I currently own one at about 6.5 inches and growing. If you have more info about the two species, please share with me.
