Hi, all,

I am getting an AFTV next week and it will be put in a temporary tank first. I was wondering if I could just put all the feeder fish in with it and it can eat whenever it wants or should I feed it daily? I just am not sure if it will overeat itself.

some people leave feeders in there so when their fish does get comfortable and hungry, he'll go for it.

personally, I don't feed fish the first day- I let them get comfortable, build up an appetite and throw one or two in there afterwards. Fish can eat a lot, but I'm pretty sure they won't stuff themselves stupid ... i take that back. fish can eat other fish that are ridiculously large compared to themselves.. but they always seem to be okay.

and how often you should feed it depends on its size. the younger they are, they should get fed smaller and more frequent meals. as they get larger, u may only need to feed a few times a week.. with obviously larger portions
