sometimes my pleco chases my africans around, i guess to suck on the slim coat. he even chases my catfish around too. well, the fish only put up with for about a minute then fight back (i once saw my johanni grab my pleco by the "neck" area and thrash it around like a dog would). this only seems to happen when it's feeding time. anyone else experience this? i've heard that once they get a taste for slim coat it's game over. will the pleco eventually stop trying as it matures? my one buddy has a pleco about 1 foot and it doesnt chase his africans around and this is the second pleco i've had that is doing this. any advice? he's about 3 inches long.

I have an 11 inch pleco and he fights my male eureka red every single day including feeding time. The pleco doesnt start the fights though. My pleco tries to poke him with his fins not suck his slime coat

yeah my pleco starts it and it's usually a cichlid that finishes it lol. my sunshine kicks his ***. i've been watching my fish closely, tryna see if they have any marks or anything. nothing so far, thank goodness.

about 4 inches. he seems to of calmed down a little. could be cause i just changed my rock work around with my last water change. but i'm still keeping an eye on him.
