how many peacock cichlid's (not peacock bass) could i put in a 29 gallon tank...it's a standard tank, and i've had 5 in it before, but now it's empty i'd like to know how many would be fine in a 29..

I would say thats probably enough, maybe one or two more.... Only if your breeding thou....

Depends what you want to do with them. If you're wanting to breed, try 1 male and several females. You'll get alot of fighting with more than 1 male in small groups. A larger group of say 8 to 10 with equal amounts of males and females would probably work because of the crowding, sort of like the pet shops. Remember, these guys like to dig large nests, so provide lots of gravel. And, keep up those water changes.

I would have to pretty much agree with what they are saying I think 5-6 should be enough if you are not breeding them then obviously you are going to need more.

Honestly, I have to say that I don't think you should be keeping any peacocks in a 29gal...
