i have a 5-6" silver and im planning to get a 7" african aro tomorrow will they be compatible they will be going in my 140 until my 315 gal is running

Definitely. Afros are only violent towards other Afros. I had such a pairing once. Had no problems whatsoever. Although you do have to take into consideration that success comes on a tank by tank and fish by fish basis. What worked for me might not for you. But personally i don't see any problems.
