I was working on the 500g the other day, had the back corner lid panel off to get at an overflow. I normally keep the lid weighted down. I left the room to do something for about two minutes, came back and my 17" african arowana was on the floor.
He is not hyper/spastic, I never hear him banging the lid when I am in the fish room. So did he realize that something was different above the water and make a jump for it, or was it just coincidental that right when I walk away he goes wild in the only uncovered part of the tank?
Makes you wonder...
(The afro is fine by the way. I grabbed him and tossed him back in, and this was about a week ago now.)
