I bet this has been asked like a million times but I'm gonna ask again. I have a 60"x24"x28" 135 or so I was told... My question is... Would it be possible to put any species of AFT in this size tank? I know they are like a friggin dragster and need lots of room and current but could I do it? With like a 4" fatf or vatf? I'm guessing a no no on gatf correct? The plan is in 1-3 years hopefully less build a 12'x6'x5 tank. I know all ATF grow into beasts. Would Tors be goor dithers? What dithers would you recommend.

You would get away with keeping a forskhalii for a while if you could find 1 but would still need an upgrade up to at least 6' long and preferably bigger for an adult, all of the others are not gonna work out for life tho.

This thread will tell you pretty much everything you need to know http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=521170

Aside from fatf would vatf or tatf be okay for a year or two?

Possibly, my VATF eats pellets like a pig every day and I would still say I'm only getting around an inch a month growth so with normal feeding I would say it would go from 1" to around 1' in about a year to a year and a half with good water quality...

I think 2 might be pushing it because they cruise all day and night and do have sudden crazy bursts of speed

Tanzania have the potential to grow much larger than vittatus but from what I have seen it's rare especially in aquaria, but you should ideally be thinking about something like an 8x4 footprint within 2 years and be aware that any tank mates are at risk, everything can be fine then 1 day it just goes crazy and murders everything in the tank! Lots of stories of that happening floating around lol

If you still really want 1 and are prepared for all of that then they are a very fun and impressive fish to keep :)
