Never walk away when adding water. Never turn off anything heater or pump anything unless you put on a wrist band so you don't forget. Add declor then add the water so you don't forget. Don't hurry.

These are very true. I would also add do not hurry anything in the process of medicating fish or right before you leave the house. It is a good way to kill a whole tank...

Lol I've over filled all of my tanks many times! I've replaced my floor in my living room twice because of it. Kids, dogs and other distractions will get Ya.

Can I add don't close the valve on an aqueon siphoning kit while pumping water back into your tank... they like to explode when under pressure lol

make sure to properly attach guards onto equipment.
guard fell off filter input and chewed up all my discus fry. don't know if it slipped or was jarred off by a person/pet.
 
Two year olds and hoses don't mix, they always like to grab them. Where on time number 3 he flooded my kitchen.
